Sculptural work submitted for the NJ Council on the Arts 2021 Individual Artists Fellowship Award. The group of work is entitled the "Lever and Fulcrum Series."

The title for this series was initially conceived as a fairly literal translation of the visual appearance of a number of these works, but this title also came to embody ideas that relate to the pieces and what they represent metaphorically. My interest has always revolved around the duplicitous concepts of the physical manifestations of the actual pieces, and the interplay of the titles of the work and the interpretive interaction that can result within the viewer. My desire is to create and to enjoy the freedom to make the things that I make, and also to allow an observer to find their own way into the work and to engage with it on any level with which they may choose.
